CommonTown is proud to be the platform developer for edumall2.0, a joint-project between MOE and IDA that seeks to connect teachers all over the nation by providing them with access to a wealth of teaching and learning (T&L) digital resources. To date, the platform is being used by over 28,000 MOE teachers across 365 schools in Singapore, providing a one-stop resource portal for teaching and professional development.


With edumall2.0, qualified educators are given access to over 25,000 trusted curriculum-based resources, including digital media, documents or migrated web-based resources produced or procured by MOE HQ. In addition, the portal also integrates a powerful search engine and engages educators in a social community hosting a wide range of web 2.0 interactive tools.


Key Features
• Communities: A publicly accessible space where users can access selected content and engage learning services. Materials are presented in a lively multimedia format such as flash animation, video stream or podcast. There are a variety of interactive tools in various communities; these include wikis, discussion forums, opinion polls and surveys.


• Repository: An electronic library of digital content for teaching and learning from various MOE HQ divisions or trusted third-party providers.


• Search: A powerful search engine which enables users to search the entire portal with simple keywords or advanced criteria.


• MyEdumall: A personalized space where teachers and students where can customize and present personalized content. Teachers can post articles in a special personal blog known as KnowBlog to stimulate and facilitate online learning. (This is a personalized space, login required).


In addition to developing and setting up the portal, CommonTown assists in user administration and helpdesk management for edumall2.0.
