Woodgrove Secondary School started its journey in 2000 under the leadership of the pioneer Principal, Mrs Helena Song Kheng Sin. The school was officially opened on 5 July 2002. In 2007, a new school vision and mission were crafted to re-position the school as a “School of Choice in nurturing a community of dynamic learners who take ownership of their learning”.
In 2007, WoodGrove Secondary uses CommonTown's Commonwork E-Portal. The portal was intended as an online version of Project Works, a learning module offered in the school’s curriculum. With this portal, teachers can schedule and assign works to students based on specific project timeline, of which progress can then be self-recorded by students into a Gantt chart to be assessed by teachers. Commonwork E-Portal shares a similar Interface with CommonAcademy – CommonTown’s trademark learning management system.
